Current and Former Washington Redskins Players Enjoy Sports & Fun with Children & Teens Over Memorial Day Weekend

WASHINGTON – Hundreds of children and teens attending the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) Good Grief Camp and Honoring Our Heroes Camp over Memorial Day Weekend will have something extra special to smile about. On Saturday, May 24, 11:45am-2:00pm, they will attend the Yellow Ribbons United (YRU) Playfield in the Park complete with an incredible picnic lunch loaded with sports activities and fun, thanks to YRU and a host of sponsors, including NFL Play60, NFL Punt Pass and Kick, American Girl, Washington Kastles, Sprinkles Cupcakes, Dog Tag Bakery and Lifetime Fitness.

Several current and former Washington Redskins players will join the hundreds of children and teens for a picnic lunch that includes interactive sports games, pretend tea parties, cupcakes, and fun activities. The event will be hosted by Emma and Derrick Dockery co-founders of Yellow Ribbons United.

The approximately 500 children who attend the TAPS Good Grief Camp have lost a parent or sibling serving in the Armed Forces; and children attending the TAPS Honoring Our Heroes Camp, are growing up in families impacted by military loss. The children and teens hail from around the country and will participate in events throughout Memorial Day Weekend with their families who are part of the TAPS National Military Survivor Seminar & Good Grief Camp (full media schedule).
